Stefano Bifaretti è Professore Associato presso il Dipartimento di Ingegneria Industriale dell’Università degli Studi di Roma "Tor Vergata" per il settore scientifico-disciplinare ING-IND/32 - Convertitori, Macchine e Azionamenti Elettrici. Svolge attività di docenza dal 2002, inizialmente presso la Facoltà di Ingegneria dell’Università degli Studi di Cassino in qualità di docente a contratto del corso di Controllo dei Processi. Attualmente è docente di Elettronica di Potenza e Sistemi di Conversione per il Fotovoltaico presso la Facoltà di Ingegneria dell’Università degli Studi di Roma Tor Vergata. Da gennaio 2000 svolge attività di ricerca scientifica con il gruppo di Elettronica Industriale dell’Università di Roma “Tor Vergata”, partecipando a diversi progetti industriali in collaborazione con aziende operanti nei settori dell'elettronica industriale e di potenza. Nel 2007 è stato coinvolto, nell’unità di ricerca dell’Università di Nottingham (UK), nel progetto di ricerca europeo UNIFLEX PM rivolto allo sviluppo di convertitori di potenza per Smart Grid. Dal 2008 partecipa allo sviluppo dei convertitori elettronici per la produzione di energia da sorgenti fotovoltaiche, in particolare da quelle di tipo Dye-Sensitized Solar Cell (DSSC), in collaborazione con CHOSE e con il consorzio Dyepower. Dal 2012 partecipa, in collaborazione con Thales Alenia Space, alla ricerca sul tema "Sviluppo avionica e alimentazione elettrica" nell'ambito del progetto per la Regione Lazio "Progettazione di un Microsatellite e sviluppo tecnologie abilitanti". Dal 2012 contribuisce, in qualità di Topic Chair, all'organizzazione del congresso internazionale IEEE Energy Conversion Congress and Exposition (ECCE). Dal 2014 è Associate Editor per la rivista  IEEE Trans. on Industry Applications. E’ revisore per le riviste internazionali IET Power Electronics, IEEE Trans. on Industry Applications, IEEE Trans. on Industrial Electronics, IEEE Trans. on Power Electronics e IEEE Trans. on Smart Grid. E’ coautore di oltre 90 lavori scientifici e di due libri didattici.

 

Stefano Bifaretti is Associate Professor at University of Rome Tor Vergata in Power Electronics and Industrial Electronics. In January 2000, he joined the Industrial Electronics research group of the University of Rome Tor Vergata. He has been partecipating in different industrial research projects involving industrial and power electronics companies. He is currently a lecturer in Power Electronics and in Photovoltaic Conversion Systems at University of Rome Tor Vergata. In 2007 he was involved in Advanced Power Converters for Universal and Flexible Power Management in Future Electricity Network European research project. In such framework he worked as Research Fellow with the Power Electronics and Motion Control Group at the University of Nottingham developing two different control strategies for the conversion structure proposed in the project. Since 2008 he has been collaborating with the Center for Hybrid and Organic Solar Energy (CHOSE) and consortium Dyepower in the research and industrial development of power electronic converters for energy production systems based on photovoltaic sources and, in particular, on Dye-Sensitized Solar Cell (DSSC). In 2012 and 2013 he has been serving as a Topic Chair for the IEEE Energy Conversion Congress and Exposition (ECCE 2012). He is an Associate Editor for IEEE Transaction on Industry Applications. He is a reviewer for the following Journals: IEEE Trans. on Industry Applications, IEEE Trans. on Industrial Electronics, IEEE Trans. on Power Electronics, IEEE Trans. on Smart Grid and IET Power Electronics. He is co-author of more than 90 papers published on different international journals and on the proceedings of the most important conference related to power electronics and industrial electronics.
