Since 1985 he has collaborated in the clinical and research activities of the Neuropsychology Laboratory of the Neurological Clinic of the Tor Vergata University directed by Prof. Carlo Caltagirone.

In 1990 he won a C.N.R. - N.A.T.O. scholarship, thanks to which he spent 12 months (November 1990 - November 1991) at the Laboratory of Neuropsychology of the Boston University Medical School directed by Prof. Marlene Oscar Berman and collaborated with the Memory Research Center of Boston University directed by Prof. Laird Cermak.

He was responsible for the Operational Units of the PRIN (Cofin) projects in 2005 and 2010-2011.

He is Principal Investigator of the PNRR-MAD-2022-12376889 funded project "Development of advanced magnetic resonance imaging and signal processing methods tailored for quantitative characterization of neurodegenerative diseases through identification of novel biomarkers."

Neuropsychological evaluation of memory disorders resulting from organic lesions of brain structures.

Profiles of neuropsychological impairment in dementia syndromes of various etiologies.

Disorders of cognitive development and memory skills in individuals with mental retardation underlying specific genetic syndromes.

He is author of more than 270 publications - of which about 220 in international peer-reviewed journals - and of numerous communications at national and international scientific meetings.
