Mauro Leonardi è nato nel 1974, a Roma, Laurea con lode in Ingegneria Elettronica (maggio 2000) presso l'Università Tor Vergata di Roma. Dottorato di ricerca in Geoinformazione nel mese di ottobre del 2003.  Dal gennaio 2004 è Ricercatore presso l'Università Tor Vergata di Roma, dove insegna "Sistemi di Rilevamento e Navigazione" e "Sistemi radar". Le sue principali attività di ricerca si concentrano su: Controllo del traffico aereo e Advanced Surface Movement Guidance e di controllo (ASMGCS), navigazione satellitare, Integrità e analisi del segnale GNSS. E 'autore / coautore di oltre 30 lavori, poi due brevetti e numerose relazioni tecniche.

Mauro Leonardi was born in 1974, in Rome, Laurea cum laude in Electronic Engineering (May 2000) at Tor Vergata University in Rome. PhD in October 2003, focusing his work on Target Tracking and Air Traffic Control and Navigation. He is Assistant Professor at Tor Vergata University in Rome where he teaches “Radiolocation and Navigation Systems” and “Radar Systems” . He has been teaching also "Fundamentals of Radiolocalization" in the same University since 2017 Since 2015, he has been also an Adjunct professor in the Academy of the Italian Finance Police (Accademia della Guardia di Finanza), teaching Radar Fundamental and Navigation in the course "Radar and RadioTecniques". His main research activities are focused on: Radar, Air Traffic Control, Advanced Surface Movement Guidance and Control System (ASMGCS), Satellite Navigation, Integrity and Signal Analysis, New surveillance system for ATC (such as Multilateration and ADS-B), positioning and Localization algorithms. Regarding methodology, many activities involve research on: analysis and signal processing (super-resolution techniques, estimation, interferences), estimation theory, statistical models and simulation. He was evolved in various research project, e.g.: SISAG (Regione Lazio, 2012), Ganimede (Regione Lazio 2011), HABITAT (Ministero degli Affari Esteri e della Cooperazione Internazionale 2011-2015), INFOSAT (Italina Space Agency, 2007- 2008), Galileo Test Range (Regione Lazio 2006-2007), Egnos to Galileo (Italian Space Agency, 2005-2006), NASIA (Italian Space Agency, 2005), Fast prototyping (ENAV). He is reviewer for various Journal and conference, e.g.: IEEE Transactions on Aerospace and Electronic Systems, IET Radar Sonar and Navigationm, European Microwave Week etc. He is author/co-author of over than 50 papers, two patent and many technical reports.
