RESEARCH ACTIVITY

My research focuses on investigating the impact of environmental perturbations, such as cold exposure and nutrient modulation, on metabolic health and aging. In recent studies, I have delved into unraveling the intricate interplay between mitochondrial responses and immunometabolic adaptations, particularly in regulating adipose tissue thermogenesis. To achieve these goals, my research is currently supported by European Foundation for the Study of Diabetes (EFSD), Friedreich's Ataxia Research Alliance (FARA), Italian Ministry of Health (MOH), the U.S. Department of Defense (DOD) and AIRC - Fondazione AIRC per la Ricerca sul Cancro.
