1982 – 1990 Ricercatore presso l’Istituto di Analisi dei Sistemi ed Informatica, Consiglio Nazionale delle Ricerche. 1990 – 1993 Professore Straordinario di Informatica (settore K05B) presso il Dipartimento di Matematica Pura ed Applicata, Università degli Studi di L’Aquila. 1993 – 2012 Professore Ordinario di Informatica (SSD INF/01) presso il Dipartimento di Matematica, Università degli Studi di Roma “Tor Vergata”. 2012 – ora Professore Ordinario di Informatica (SSD INF/01) presso il Dipartimento di Ingegneria dell’Impresa, Università degli Studi di Roma “Tor Vergata”.
