	Laureato in medicina e Chirurgia presso l'Universit&agrave; di Roma Tor Vergata nel 1990 si &egrave; specializzato in Malattia dell&rsquo;Apparato Cardiovascolare nel 1994 ed in Anatomia Patologica nel 1999 presso la stessa Universit&agrave;. Il Dr. Sangiorgi si &egrave; abilitato all'esercizio professionale in Italia nel 1990. Vincitore nel 2010 dell'idoneit&agrave; a Professore Associato di Cardiologia presso l'universit&agrave; di Roma Tor Vergata e professore a contratto in Chirurgia Vascolare presso l'universit&agrave; di Sassari (2016) e presso l'Universit&agrave; di Milano (2019).&nbsp;</p>

	Fellow presso il laboratorio di Emodinamica della Mayo Clinic and Foundation di Rochester, Minnesota - USA dal 1992, &egrave; stato nominato&nbsp;&nbsp;&ldquo;Research Associate&rdquo; dal1994 al 1998. &Egrave; stato Aiuto presso il Laboratorio di Diagnostica ed Interventistica Cardiovascolare dell'Istituto Policlinico San Donato in Milano dal 1998 al 2002. Dal 2004 &egrave; Ricercatore confermato presso la cattedra di Cardiologia dell&rsquo;Universit&agrave; di Roma Tor Vergata e responsabile del corso in cardiologia interventistica per la scuola di specializzazione in Cardiologia. Dal 2019 &egrave; responsabile del corso di laurea in Malattie dell'Apparato Cardiovascolare in lingua Inglese.&nbsp;&nbsp;Dal 2003 al 2009 &egrave; stato Direttore Clinico Associato e Direttore della Ricerca Clinica presso il Centro Cuore Columbus ed Ospedale San Raffaele di Milano. Dal 2009 al 2011 &egrave; stato responsabile dell&rsquo;Emodinamica del Policlinico Universitario di Modena. Dal 2011 al 2016 &egrave; stato responsabile dell'istituto Clinico Cardiologico di Roma. Dal 2016 lavora all'Humanitas Gavazzeni di Bergamo. Dal 2019 &egrave; primario a Novara presso la Clinica San Gaudenzio.&nbsp;</p>
<p>
	Ha vinto nel 1998 il terzo premio come migliore ricercatore dell&rsquo;American Heart Association e nel 2001 il primo premio della Societ&agrave; Italiana di Cardiologia. &Egrave; fellow della Societ&agrave; Europea di Cardiologia, della Societ&agrave; Americana di Cardiologia Interventistica, della Societ&agrave; Italiana di Cardiologia Interventistica di cui &egrave; stato membro del consiglio direttivo dal 2006 al 2010, ed &egrave; membro onorario della Societ&agrave; Romena di Cardiologia, della Plummer Society e della Mayo Alumni Society.&nbsp;</p>

	Ha pubblicato oltre 300 lavori su riviste internazionali e diversi capitoli di libri. Fa parte del comitato editoriale di diverse riviste cardiologiche internazionali.</p>

	Si occupa di angioplastica coronarica e periferiche, sostituzione valvolare aortica, trattamento di aneurismi toracici ed addominali ed angioplastica per la disfunzione erettile.</p>

	Born in Florence on October 4th 1965.&nbsp; &nbsp; Dr. Sangiorgi is a graduate of the University of Rome Tor Vergata in 1990. He is Board Certified in Cardiology (1994) and in &nbsp;Surgical Pathology (1999).&nbsp; &nbsp; He is a Fellow of the Italian Society of Cardiology, the European Society of Cardiology, the American Society of Cardiac Angiography and Intervention, The Italian Society of Interventional Cardiiology. He is also a member of the Working Group on Interventional Cardiology and Coronary Circulation of the European Society of Cardiology. He is onorary member of the Romanian Society of Cardiology &nbsp; He served as a Fellow in Cardiovascular Disease at the Mayo Clinic and Foundation, Rochester, USA from 1992 to 1998 and became Research Associate in Interventional Cardiology with Dr. Robert S. Schwartz. &nbsp; Dr. Sangiorgi was a finalist in the "Young Investigators Award" of the American College of Cardiology and won the first place in the "Young Investigators Award" of the Italian Society of Cardiology for the identification of a new serologic marker of plaque vulnerability in the carotid district.&nbsp; &nbsp; He relocated to Milan in 1998 and became Senior Staff member in the Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory at Policlinico San Donato, University of Milan, where he practiced coronary, carotid and peripheral interventional procedures. From 1998 he is Assistant Professor at the University of Rome and from 2005 &nbsp;to 2008 he has been Director of the Interventional Cardiology Program at the same University.&nbsp; &nbsp; Dr. Sangiorgi also joined Centro Cuore Columbus and San Raffaele Hospital at the beginning of 2003 as Associate Clinical Director and Clinical Research Director. He has been responsible for the peripheral program in San Raffaele Hospital. In 2004 he became Medical Director of Mediolanum Cardiovascular Research, an independent CRO performing clinical trials in cardiovascular medicine. From January 2009 to April 2011 he has been the Director of the Cath Lab of the University Hospital of Modena and Reggio Emilia. &nbsp; He relocated at the University of Rome in May 2011 and he has worked as consultant at the Hospital Casilino and at the Clinical Cardiologic Institute. He is a contract Professor at the University of Sassari for the Peripheral Interventional Program and for Cardiovascular Interventional Pathology at the University of Rome Tor Vergata.&nbsp; &nbsp; He has been part of the Board of Director of the Italian Society of Interventional Cardiology and he is Vice-President of the Italian of Society of Interventional Cardiology Foundation.&nbsp; &nbsp; Dr. Sangiorgi is the author of approximately 280 medical papers in major international peer reviewed journals, approximately 600 abstracts in international and national meetings and several book chapters in major cardiology and interventional textbooks.
